We make fun, inclusive and accessible games – and we help others to do the same.
Kaludoscope AB was founded in 2016 by Gemma Thomson and Delia Hamwood. When the pair first met they were creating fun with a cardboard fort and foil armour; they would then go on to collaborate with each other using digital media at a number of culturally-progressive game jams. After they worked on as part of Antholojam in December 2014, Gemma and Delia resolved to tackle a larger project in the same vein, combining engaging gameplay with inclusive narrative and design. That effort began in earnest in the summer of 2016 - dusting off design notes and pooling their shared knowledge to start a new games studio, founded on the principles of fairness, accessibility, inclusiveness and fun.Dragon Queens
The seeds of our first game were sown in the wake of an earlier game jam, but matured amidst the supportive environment of Swedish game incubators. Intended as a modest but scaleable demonstration of what we can create, work on has also laid the groundwork for Kaludoscope's libraries and solutions for accessible gaming. Our work continues in concert with Gemma's efforts to spread diversity and inclusivity awareness, as well as our wish to see a fun local multiplayer experience play out in homes, trains and public spaces worldwide.
